The Fünf-Seidla-Steig® (Five-Seidla-Trail)

After a strenuous hike in summer, enjoy a cool, genuine Franconian beer – on the Five-Seidla-Trail you can do this not just once, but five times! This famous hiking trail is located in the middle of the city triangle between Bamberg, Bayreuth and Erlangen, i.e. Franconian Switzerland. On warm sunny days, crowds of people flock to Weißenohe to the starting point of the trail.

Five breweries

The idea behind the brewery hiking trail: you walk along winding paths over gentle hills to a total of five breweries. At each of the locations, you can taste a locally brewed beer specialty – in Franconian: a Seidla. Of course, visitors can also look forward to all kinds of delicacies from the region, so that nobody has to go hungry. You can also enjoy Weißenoher beer at the Hotel Luise. Depending on the length of the breaks, you will be on the road for around 4-8 hours. There are even information boards and interactive elements all about brewing culture along the way!

Anyone who has visited all the breweries and collected five stamps will receive the exclusive Fünf-Seidla-Krug as a souvenir to take home at the end of the tour for a small extra charge. If you don’t want to walk the full 18 kilometers, you can also choose a shorter tour that is about half as long. You can find a detailed route description and directions here.
